FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What are the camp dates and location?
Camp runs from Wednesday, July 23rd - Sunday, July 27th at Wheat State Retreat Center located at 11105 SW 86th St, Augusta, KS 67010

2. What forms do I need to fill out?
The Youth Camp Liability/Parental Consent Waiver needs to be notarized. You can find the notary as a download in the Complete Notary section above, and upload it through the link in your Confirmation Email that you get after completing your registration. There is also a Paintball Waiver you sign off on in the registration itself.

3. What is the age range for campers?
Our camp is open to students who are in 6th-12th grade during the 2024-2025 school year. All of our sessions and activities are all held together.

4. How do I register my child for camp?
You can register by clicking the blue REGISTER button above. The registration deadline is June 30th. Limited spots available.

5. What is the cost of camp, and what does it cover?
The cost is $400 per student, which includes meals, lodging, all activities, and a camp T-shirt.

6. What is the camp’s policy on electronics?
Cell phones, apple watches, tablets, and other devices are not permitted at camp. We ask that they leave their devices at home. We encourage parents and camp Leaders to exchange phone numbers on the day of drop-off, so you can be updated throughout the week!

7. What medical support is available during camp?
We have a certified camp nurse on-site 24/7 to handle any medical needs. ALL medications should be checked in with the nurse upon arrival, and we are equipped to handle medical emergencies with nearby hospital access.

8. What activities are offered at camp?
All of our activities are held outside after lunch. We have a variety of cabin competitions that all students participate in, whether that is cheering their team on the sideline or participating in it themselves.

9. How are dietary restrictions handled?
Unfortunately, Wheat State does not offer a separate menu for those with special dietary needs or concerns. Wheat State does offer items for those with gluten sensitivity, but if someone is allergic (celiac issues) they cannot guarantee there is no cross-contamination in the kitchen. There is a fridge, freezer, and microwave available in the dining hall for those who need to supplement their meals. ALL students are responsible for preparing their meals and bringing home all of their containers.

10. What is the cancellation and refund policy?
You will receive a full refund, please communicate with Sonya to get the refund in process.

11. What happens if it rains?
Rain doesn’t stop the fun! We suggest bringing a poncho! If the weather is severe we will resort to an activity held inside.

12. How does the camp handle homesickness or behavior issues?
Our cabin leaders handle homesickness with care and understanding, offering extra support to a student who may need it. For behavior issues, we follow a structured discipline policy and communicate with parents as needed. If a student does not follow our guidelines, then parents will be called to pick up their student at the campground. Our goal is to ensure all students have a positive experience.

13. When and where is Student Drop-off?
Wednesday, July 23rd from 11am-12:15pm will be check-in located in the Worship Center. The building is located off of 159th street.
